REQUESTING YOUR SUPPORT & VOTE
I contested the 2024 elections as a natural reaction to things that happened around me and the need to change things. I believed that to change things you need to change yourself and from a person who stood away from politics and elections, I took a plunge.
I believe that I have brought positive visible changes to the Association and to the Bar and this year I decided to contest only to complete the tasks that I had undertaken and more particularly to open up opportunities for the younger members of the Bar who are the future of the associations.
No other executive committee laid importance to Research and Scholarships like this committee. To ensure continued work to establish a centre of excellence and exchange programme, to ensure prestigious lectures are made an annual affair, the work started by this committee needs continuance.
As a President of the KHCAA, I am proud to say that I did not request members to take out boycotts, marches or indulge in sloganeering. We used our skills and ensured we take legal steps to deal with issues of police atrocities.
We have to take out a white paper to expose the farce of e-filing in Kerala which is nothing but an additional burden on advocates. Video recording of court proceeding must be made mandatory so that there is transparency in proceedings and to eliminate the threat of false contempt charges being hoisted on advocates.
I have always stood up for the dignity of the Advocates and I will continue to do so. I want Advocates to be fearless when they discharge their duties, and I want them to be assured that the President of the Association will always back them up.
